About WFF Bangladesh Chapter

Background

World Food Forum (WFF) Bangladesh Chapter is a youth-led platform aligned with the global World Food Forum initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations established during the World Food Forum Flagship at FAO Headquarters on October 2023. It serves as a catalyst for youth engagement in the agri-food system, bringing together young people, institutions, and stakeholders to address challenges related to food security, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture in Bangladesh.

Vision

To build an inclusive, innovative, sustainable, and youth-driven food system in Bangladesh where young people actively lead transformative actions for food security, climate resilience, agricultural development, and social well-being.

Mission
  • To empower youth through leadership opportunities, knowledge exchange, innovation, advocacy, and collaboration in food systems and sustainable development.
  • To connect young people from diverse academic and professional backgrounds for collective action in agriculture, nutrition, climate action, entrepreneurship, and rural development.
  • To create platforms for dialogue, research, capacity building, and policy engagement to address national and global food system challenges.
  • To encourage youth participation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to zero hunger, climate action, decent work, responsible consumption, and sustainable communities.
  • To strengthen partnerships among youth, academia, government institutions, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector.
Objectives
  • Promoting sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture and food systems in Bangladesh.
  • Encouraging youth leadership, volunteerism, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
  • Organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, dialogues, campaigns, competitions, training programs, and networking events.
  • Supporting research, policy discussions, and publications related to food systems, agriculture, nutrition, environment, and sustainability.
  • Creating opportunities for national and international collaboration among youth and institutions.
  • Encouraging digital innovation and technology-driven solutions for agricultural and food system challenges.
  • Promoting gender equality, diversity, inclusion, and equal participation in organizational activities.
  • Facilitating skill development and professional growth among members.
  • Supporting initiatives related to food security, nutrition awareness, rural development, climate action, and sustainable livelihoods.
  • Representing Bangladeshi youth perspectives in national, regional, and international platforms related to food systems and sustainable development.
